What I've been working on lately...

I know that it's been a long 4 weeks since my last post so I thought I would just a do a quick picture upload of some of the recently complete pieces. The below picture is one that I put on Facebook a while back and you may also recognize the picture from an earlier post. But I wanted to highlight what a difference just a little bit of paint made on both of these items!

The below pictures are of a china cabinet that I bought since I thought it had some potential. I ended up falling completely in love with the finished product and I am so happy that it found its home with a young family who love it just as much! (BTW - they just recently moved into a new home which we have been working on and sharing pictures of soon!)
Doors off, primed and sanded and ready to be painted...
I started by painting the entire thing in a high gloss black oil based paint. I knew I wanted to do something with a bit of pizzaz to it but couldn't figure out exactly what should be done. After using the coral paint for the chairs (for the same couple) we thought it would be fun to have a little surprise hiding behind the doors so I painted the interior of the cabinet in a oil based Coral for a bit of a pop! Did not realize how much I was going to LOVE the end result. After a couple coats of paint with sanding in between I applied a couple coats of Polyurethane to prevent any chips or scratches.

Doors back on and in its new home!

I had some extra black velvet fabric so I relined the drawer since the old fabric was pretty worn thin.

The final product that is gracious host of their wedding china and crystal!
Their home is practically complete and once it is I will get some pictures of it to share. You will not believe the transformation that took place. They are an amazing couple who have dedicated their lives to ministry and it was a joy to help them and give them a home that they love!
